"Next to Machines" cover concept. Vinyl maybe?

Here is an album test cover for the next Cryoshell release "Next to Machines".
And now a question for you. Would you buy a vinyl album or do you prefer CD or digital download? It would be cool to hear your opinion in the comments.

  1. I'll admit, I don't currently own a way to play vinyl, but for Cryoshell, I am extremely tempted to. So yes, I absolutely would get a vinyl. Probably end up buying the digital too.

  2. I don't have a way to play vinyl, although I would like to have a vinyl set up, so CD. But with you guys I'd get whatever format you release the new album on!

  3. My go-to formats are CD and digital, but for Cryoshell, I'd get a Vinyl as well.
And I know I've said this before on Facebook and YouTube, but I'm REALLY hoping 'Next to Machines' will be released on Bandcamp. I've been buying music there for over 4 years now, and in my opinion it's the best online platform for buying music...
Not only do fans get the music they buy in any format they want, they also get to stream the music right on the album page, or via app, and they get the option to pay extra if they think the artist deserves it. Overall it's just a really great, and comfortable system, and I hope Cryoshell makes use of it.

  4. I'd so buy the vinyl record. It would be an important addition to my collection, and the artwork would be so cool to look at the artworks and such. A tip: make it a fagatefold, and include a booklet (if you decide to make a vinyl record)

  5. Definitely would get the CD, but I agree with another user here in the comments, Henning, I too would like it to go on Bandcamp, it's a graet platform.

    1. It really is!
Oh, and another important feature I forgot to mention in my first comment is that when fans buy physical merch on Bandcamp, they get the digital download with it.
And I've heard from an indie artist friend of mine that Bandcamp takes a WAY smaller cut from the sales than other retailers, like iTunes. So it'd be a win-win for both the band and us fans.

  7. CD would be awesome, as well as Download. Vinyl is a great bonus but remember that a lot of people don't have the equipment to play it.

Putting it up on Bandcamp would be great because then we can pay you extra for the CD if we want to. Also, it's a great community of lesser-known artists. Sharing other artists that you like is encouraged there. Great for the artistic community.

  10. I'll take a CD or digital download. A CD with that design would be sick!

  11. If your tight on a budget with production, here what I would do.

    Make vinyl limited edition

CDs can come with digital download, maybe a code to redeem them on sites like Bandcamp

If merchandise is going to be sold, perhaps make different tiers of bundles.
Every bundle must come with the CD+Digital.

  12. I'm a big fan of CD format. I like having a physical copy of music I own.

  13. I'm not a big fan of digital downloads. Even Bandcamp, which is by far the best platform, takes a bigger cut than I would like. I prefer to buy a physical copy from the artist.

In this case, I don't have a record player, so I'd prefer a CD, but I might be tempted to buy the vinyl too, as a collector's item.

  14. I would buy the CD, because I like cd, and I like digital... but I like the CD.... but a vinyl I will love to buy it.. but I don't have a Vinyl player :( so, I choose cd and Digital... talking about cd... I want the CD version of the first album on Chile

  15. I prefer CD, but I might get the Vinyl just for a collectors item. I'm so excited! Can't wait for the new album!

  16. I'd absolutely buy a vynil release. Though a bundle together of the vynil with either a CD or the code to download it is nice so I can have the album on my phone as well.

  17. Yes definitely please release physical copies. Vinyl is super hot again and it's definitely worth doing print runs, even if they're just limited. There are definitely people who will pick up vinyl. I personally don't go for it because Its more of an investment than I'm willing to make. Its a great hobby for sure but I don't really wanna sink more money into yet another hobby. I do however want a CD and I will preorder that baby right now if you'd let me. HAHA

I'm so stoked you guys are coming back. I can't wait to hear your new music.

  18. I would buy it, I even have a vinyl record player to play it on.

  19. I would go with CD. I don't have a record player, I might get one in the future so maybe. But I recommended having a bundle with the vinyl, maybe a choice of merchandise, and a if you want to make it special you could sign the vinyl cover.

  20. I would love it if it came out on vinyl!

  21. I would love to have a bundle of all 3. But, at minimum a CD.

    SvarSlet
  22. I would prefer physical CD, but recognize that digital seems to be the main market these days. Either way, you should definitely include a PDF of the album booklet again, like you did for the original Cryoshell album: that's something that a lot of people want, and Cryoshell stands out as the only band that has done it.

  23. Just got a vinyl player for this!

  24. Could you please give us an update for Next To Machines? A new vlog, an estimated release date for the first new single? Anything, really.

  25. I‘d completely buy the vinyl

  26. I'd absolutely order Vinyl! I didn't find out that y'all were still making music till I accidentally found your new stuff this morning! Y'all are such icons to my youth that you hold a place among the other titans of my music enjoyment and would be one of the only artists I'd buy vinyl from in a heartbeat!
